Sydney Kelly (born Appledore 1879) was mate of the Rangatira in 1907. In 1909 she was sold
to the Vestey organisation and renamed 'Graf Muravieff'. In 1911 she was transferred to
Blue Star under British registry and renamed 'Brodmore'.
On 27th February 1917 she was torpedoed and sunk in the Mediterranean.
Rangatira was built at Hartlepool in 1890 by William Gray & Co.(Lim) and Lloyds Register
list her details as follows:
Ships No. 97216, SteelScSr, 4045 Tons, 365 feet long, 47.1 feet breadth, 26.5 feet depth.
Built for Shaw Saville & Albion.
In 1906 her yards were removed.
